Autumn Term 2024

6th September 2024

Dear Parents and Carers,

I hope you are all well and enjoyed a fantastic summer break. We’re thrilled to welcome back all our pupils and to hear/see the wonderful stories/photos from their holidays. It’s always lovely to see the excitement they bring as they reconnect with their friends.

We also have new pupils joining our school community, and I would like to extend a special welcome to them. We are excited to have them on board and will do everything we can to help them feel at home.

As a reminder, please ensure that you’ve completed all necessary consent forms and Free School Meal applications if applicable. This helps us provide the best support for your children.

I’d like to reassure you that there have been no changes in our senior leadership or safeguarding teams this year. We’re committed to maintaining a safe and supportive learning environment for all our pupils.

Additionally, I do want to inform you about a new attendance policy from the government. Holidays taken during term time can no longer be approved, and the expectation is that fines will now be enforced for those who do. In the past, our governing body used the category of "exceptional circumstances" for holidays: when a pupil's attendance was above 90% and only once a year. Unfortunately, we can no longer offer that flexibility. If you have any requests regarding holiday leave, please feel free to reach out to me directly, and we can discuss your situation.

Thank you for your understanding as we navigate these changes together. Here’s to a great year ahead filled with learning and fun.

Yours sincerely,

Sarah Pickering
