World Book Day 2025

13th March 2025

We are excited to share the highlights of our recent World Book Day celebration! It was a day filled with joy and creativity.

Our students participated in the day in their own unique ways, with many embracing the theme by dressing up as their favourite book characters.

Throughout the day, we organised a variety of engaging and accessible activities tailored for our pupils. Each pupil had the opportunity to collect a token for our book vending machine, which was stocked with World Book Day books. We extend our heartfelt thanks to Tesco for helping us source these books, ensuring that every child had the chance to choose one that resonates with them.

A highlight of the day was the workshops hosted by Paddleboat Theatre Company. Their engaging sessions in the hall were designed to captivate all our pupils, providing interactive experiences that made storytelling come alive. The delight and excitement in the room was a joy to watch, and their workshops were a tremendous success!

One of the most heart-warming aspects of the day was witnessing the joy on our pupils' faces as they engaged in various activities. Whether that was actively sharing books with one another, reading, and telling stories to their friends as well as their younger peers in other classes. Or selecting a book, participating in the sensory-rich experiences, or enjoying the workshops, every moment showcased their enthusiasm and excitement.

In addition to these activities, students participated in World Book Day hunts and enjoyed story-sharing sessions in the library and classrooms. These activities were designed to be inclusive, allowing our pupils to explore new stories together in a supportive environment.

We are grateful for the continued support from our parents and guardians, which make events like this possible. Together, we are inspiring a lifelong love of reading and books in our children.
