Weather Alert - January 2025

7th January 2025

Dear Parents and Carers,

I hope this message finds you well and you had a good Christmas break.

I am writing to inform you of the current weather situation and its potential impact on school opening over the coming days.

At present, there isn’t a forecast for snow in the vicinity of the school; however, we are under a yellow weather alert concerning the possibility of snow and ice in this area and many areas where pupils travel from.

Our intention is to remain open as usual; nonetheless, we will be closely monitoring the weather warnings, especially in relation to conditions affecting the routes that our pupils and staff travel to and from school.

In light of the weather alert, please check the school website regularly for updates. This will ensure that you remain informed about any changes to the school day, including closures or adjustments to timings. If I need to close the school, I will inform you via Schoolscomms and post on the school website.

There is a possibility that certain transport routes won’t run in the snow even if the school is open, so please bear that in mind.

Thank you for your understanding and support. Should you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact the school office.

Yours sincerely,

Sarah Pickering
Headteacher
