Newsletter 2nd Sept 2022

2nd September 2022

Dear Parents/Carers,

I hope you have all enjoyed the summer weather. We are looking forward to welcoming your children back to school on Monday 5th September. For some of you it is old hat and you know exactly what to expect: for others it is a step into the unknown. We understand your worries and the whole team were working hard yesterday and today to get prepared for a smooth transition. Please don’t hesitate to call with any questions, or information you need us to have about your child.

New parents will have had welcome packs recently, but a quick reminder of some key information

    • Medication must be named and consent forms filled in.
    • Please contact your child’s class teacher between 8.30am and 5.00pm only
    • Sun cream must be named and provided from home
    • Please ensure all emergency contact details are up to date. We will never release a child to someone who is not listed as a contact, even if your child appears to know them well
    • Transport is organised and provided by DCC not Mill Water, however we can help to liaise if there are any issues
    • Don't forget to apply for free school meals

All children in reception, year 1 and year 2 at state schools in England automatically get free school meals. However, if you receive certain benefits, you are encouraged to apply for free school meals when you enrol your child in school, as this can help your school to attract additional ’pupil premium’ funding to support your child's learning.

Please apply through the DCC website as this is the quickest and easiest way and will result in you getting an instant decision.

We will be putting a date in the diary for new parents to get together and meet key members of staff, including the safeguarding team and school governors. Please keep an eye out.
