Dear Parents and Carers,
It was lovely to see so many of you at our Comic Relief walk. I know some of you have to travel long distances to get into school, so we really appreciate those of you that made it in. We all enjoyed our walk in the surprisingly warm weather and we raised just under £250 for Comic Relief. Thank you for your support.
Update on Seaton Satellite Project
The project lead contacted me this week, to say that the soonest the building will be ready is Easter 2026. This is due to the significant amount of remedial work required to get the building to a state where adaptions can take place.
The Local Authority has agreed to the funding needed for a full refurbishment, ensuring the building meets a good standard and is transformed into the required teaching spaces. This includes essential upgrades to the building, alongside significant internal and external works to support the school's educational goals. Whilst the delay is frustrating, it does mean that we now know this project will proceed.
Hands-on Science
Class 8 were scientists and explored acidic fruit and what happens when you add bicarbonate of soda and food colouring. It was very foamy and messy, they loved it! They also went to the allotment to prepare the soil bed for planting later on in the term.
Embracing the Lovely Weather
We're thrilled to share that one of our pupils embraced the lovely weather by going on a bike ride and participating in a sponsored walk for Red Nose Day! Using his specially modified wheelchair for the first time, he engaged in these activities alongside his peers.
Kindness in the Classroom
This pupil is aware of his classmates likes and interests and was able to identify the owner of some pictures he then without any prompting took it upon himself to stick them up on his classmates display board for them.
This was lovely to witness and showed great kindness from him.
The Elves and The Shoemaker
The PaddleBoat Theatre Company returned to our school to perform the tale of The Elves and The Shoemaker! This delightful production was a resounding hit with our pupils, who were captivated by the vibrant characters and engaging storytelling.
PaddleBoat always goes down a treat when they come into our school, and this performance was no exception. The interactive moments allowed our pupils to participate, making it an unforgettable experience filled with laughter and joy.
A heartfelt thank you to PaddleBoat Theatre Company for another fantastic performance! We look forward to welcoming them back in the future!
